Beyond Expectations: 30,000 MT Petroleum Coke Delivered via Precision Direct Shipping

Recently, Beyond Bulk Shipping (H.K.) Company Limited, a subsidiary of the Beyond Group, successfully executed and completed a single-voyage bulk cargo transportation mission, safely and efficiently delivering 30,000 metric tons of petroleum coke directly from Kuwait to Shandong, China, on schedule for our valued client.

This 30,000 MT petroleum coke shipment adopted the "Direct Port-to-Port Shipping Mode." The vessel departed from Kuwait, passing through the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, crossing the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean, navigating the Malacca Strait, and proceeding through the South China Sea and East China Sea before arriving in Shandong, China. The entire journey spanned approximately 6,500 nautical miles and took 22 days.

Selecting the right vessel type is crucial in bulk cargo transportation. Based on cargo characteristics—such as particle size, density, susceptibility to dust or moisture—and shipment volume, we can match the most suitable vessel type for optimal transport efficiency.

Major Bulk Carrier Types (by deadweight tonnage):

• Handysize: 10,000–40,000 DWT, compact size with strong adaptability to waterways, canals, and ports, often equipped with cranes.
• Handymax: 40,000–50,000 DWT, with a draft of around 11 meters, capable of fully loading/unloading at most major ports, typically featuring five hatches.
• Supramax: 50,000–65,000 DWT, beam under 32.31 meters, length under 200 meters, ideal for mid-sized ports, commonly used for coal and grain.
• Panamax: 55,000–85,000 DWT, beam ≤ 32.51 meters, length ≥ 200 meters, designed to transit the Panama Canal.
• Post-Panamax: ~93,000 DWT, wider beam, tailored for the expanded Panama Canal (though not yet compliant).
• Capesize: 120,000–200,000 DWT, too large for the Suez or Panama Canals, primarily serving Cape of Good Hope routes for iron ore shipments.
• VLOC (Very Large Ore Carrier): 200,000+ DWT, exclusively for long-haul coal and iron ore transport (e.g., Brazil to China).
