2017 National Finished Vehicle Logistics Development Conference

Under the great guidance and with the assistance of the Ministry of Transport, the 2017 National Finished Vehicle Logistics Development Conference was held by Chinese IOT Automotive Logistics Branch in Dalian on June 8-9, 2017, just before the second stage governance of vehicle transportation was fully carried out. Focusing on the topic “Driving Change – A General Trend”, the conference invited related officers in the transport service division of the Ministry of Transport and over 550 representatives from more than 260 enterprises across the country, such as automobile manufacturers, finished vehicle logistics enterprises and carriers, port companies, terminal companies, ship-owning companies, railway transport enterprises, and logistics technology and equipment companies. As one of the permanent members of Chinese IOT Automobile Logistics Branch, Beyond Logistics attached such great importance to this conference that its general manager Zhang Pei with his group attended the conference. All the representatives gathered in Dalian, discussing hot and difficult issues of the finished vehicle logistics industry in the second stage governance process of vehicle transportation and the development path in the future.

In the conference, Du Dejun, director of Marketing Department of CRSCAL, delivered a speech on the topic “Railway Transportation Providing Professional Services for Commercial Vehicle Logistics”. Mr. Du introduced the carriages used in transporting commercial vehicles at present by CRSCAL in great detail and indicated that CRSCAL had been improving its quality in capacity guarantee, service and transport quality, constantly satisfying high-quality and high-efficiency requirements of commercial vehicle transport. After the campaign, Overload Administration on September 21, advantages of railway transport, including safety, high efficiency, mass transport and environmental protection, continually stand out in finished vehicle logistics. Representatives from other automobile logistics enterprises also delivered speeches.

Interactive salon: New Policy, New thinking and New Needs of Logistics

With “New Policy, New thinking and New Needs of Logistics” as the theme, this salon invited representatives from many domestic main engine plants and logistics companies. They discussed the analysis and opinions of the overload administration in the logistics industry at present from such aspects as standardization of finished vehicle highway transportation, structure optimization of logistics cost and capacity, system construction of multimodal transport, network construction of big data, and loading efficiency of transport vehicles.

Multifunction Venue: How will the new equipment of vehicle transportation drive the finished vehicle logistics market? – Technological innovation

This conference set up the multifunction venue in particular to draw participants’ attention to the influence that new equipment of vehicle transport has on the finished vehicle logistics industry. Finished vehicle logistics equipment enterprises, including China National Heavy Duty Truck Group, Beijing Futon Daimler Automotive, SIH, and Jiangling Motors, made active response to the revolution of the industry on how to help finished vehicle transportation enterprises operate efficiently, promised to develop excellent logistics equipment and provide the best solution to vehicle transportation. Meanwhile, the new equipment will greatly promote the automation and intelligentization of finished vehicle logistics equipment and combine services with intelligent technology with customer-centered integrated online and offline resources.

Business Tour

On June 8, the representatives went on a business tour to Dalian Vehicle Wharf and Heshun Ro-Ro Ship of Dafeng Port. In Dalian Port, commercial vehicles in the warehouse were placed in order and clearly marked; loading operation was carried out orderly in accordance with relevant standards. Splendid 6S management and operation delicacy management impressed all the representatives and were of referential significance to the delicacy management of companies.

Seminar on advancing the governance of vehicle transportation

During the same period, the seminar “Advancing the Governance of Vehicle Transportation” was held. Representatives from main engine plants such as  SAIC,  FAW,  Dongfeng Motors, Chang'an Automobile Group, BAIC, Guangzhou Automobile Group, Great Wall Motor, and some main logistics enterprises participated in it. The enterprises present showed their full support and active attitudes towards the governance, and made full preparations in various aspects, including making plans for vehicle replacement, adjusting transport contracts and price, increasing the ration of molten iron transport, optimizing modes of transport. At the same time, the difficulties and challenges the governance was faced with in such aspects as inconsistent law enforcement in different areas, height limit of vehicles, pressure of vehicle purchase, and rising logistics cost, were also put forward. The representatives had an in-depth discussion on the above mentioned problems, and leaders from Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Public Security, and Ministry of Industry and Information Technology also made detailed explanation.

Before the campaign Overloading Administration on September 21 last year, Beyond Logistics had been exploring a new market for railway transportation of commercial vehicles.
